AMA is family

October

Pros: Excellent food, service, and excursions

Cons: Absolutely none

Recommended: Yes

This was our first river cruise and it had set the bar extremely high! Every last crew member felt like family. Bartenders George and Jessa made sure we had fun every single night after the Chef’s spectacular meals. Flora was like a magic fairy who showed up while we were out of our room and provided so many special touches. This was a first class cruise all the way.

Enchanting Rhine Cruise

September

Pros: Excellent staff on the AmaSiena. Excellent boat. Exceptional customer service throughout the cruise.

Cons: A lot of lost time riding buses to optional shore excursions.

Recommended: Yes

This is our secound river cruise with AMA Waterways. We have been very pleased with both and look forward to possibly cruising with AMA again in the future. We highly recommend AMA Waterways. We enjoyed the cruise on the Danube River more than the Rhine River. Primarily due to the scenery and the ports where the shipped docked. On the Danube we were often able to walk into the port.

Exceeded expectations

October

Pros: A luxurious experience

Cons: Limited free time in port

Recommended: Yes

This was our first river cruise, but not our last! We had a great time on the Rhine River cruise. The cruise was organized so that we had 1/2 day to 1 day in port for most of the destinations. One slight criticism is we would have liked a little more time to explore some of the ports on our own, outside of the organized activities. We found the organized activities to be generally well-organized and interesting. I did bike tours on most days. The bike tours were moderately strenuous and were 9-17 miles over 3 hours. The city tours were slower paced, while the village tours provided more of a workout. My wife did the guided active walking tours and enjoyed them. In the off times we participated in the morning exercise classes, which were well paced for the age demographic on board. Food was generally very good, with multi-course lunches and dinners. The cabin was quite comfortable, although we found we rarely used the balcony, in part because of noisy, and amorous, neighbors. We stayed active during the day, so did not spend much time with the evening entertainment.

Captivating Rhine Wine River Cruise

March

Pros: excellent service, excursions, food and wine. Casual atmosphere. No formal evenings but a lovely chef's table dinner (slightly dressed up). Nice piano music in the lounge.

Cons: Can't think of any

Recommended: Yes

We had a lovely cruise down the Rhine River. The weather held up despite a forecast of rain every day. Service on the Amasiena was excellent even though the overall atmosphere is more casual. The ship is beautiful and the excursions were top notch. The castles were fabulous. The Cruise Director was extremely helpful and kept up to date on any possible changes. We would highly recommend this cruise. We would also recommend arriving a day early so that you can explore Amsterdam. It's such a great city.

AmaSiena Rhine river cruise

May

Pros: All staff were exceptional and ship was beautiful.

Cons: Tours were not as interesting as I hoped they would be. Too much walking even on the gentle tours.

Recommended: Yes

Ama tour manager took very good care of us. Well organized and friendly. We had to walk a long way from the ship to the bus and back after an already long walking tour each day. They should have a better method for drop off and pick up. The tours were ok not great. The food was exceptional. Covid safety protocols were followed consistently. Overall a great vacation and good value. I want to go back to Amsterdam but not Germany. The people were rude and not at all welcoming. Pre-cruise hotel in Lake Lucern was fantastic! Zurich was ok but didn’t meet my expectations.

Run don’t walk

December

Pros: Staff, organized, calm, clear communication, friendly

Cons: Weather in December (no fault of cruise)

Recommended: Yes

The team took all the precautions to keep all the passengers safe and comfortable. Even though COVID protocols were in place, it didn’t get in the way of our vacation. The ship was clean, comfortable and inviting.
