You will feel like a princess(prince) on this ship
September
Pros: Excellent food. Staff is kind and will bend over backwards to serve you. Shows were also wonderful with a large variety of options from comedy, magic, music, and dance just to name a few.
Cons: We didn't really have any. For the quality of shows and food, it is the best bang for you buck. You only have to unpack once... the rest is just enjoyment.
Recommended: Yes
From the buffet to the dining room, we found a generous variety of options. Endless ice-cream around the pool, and options of hamburgers, fries and pizza as well. Dining room menu options were fantastic and included prime rib, surf and turf, seafood options, and even vegan choices (I tried one and found it delish!). During the entire cruise I didn't experience food issues like I do at home. Everything is prepared fresh from scratch! They aim to please and watching their united team in action was impressive. Wonderful workout room. We were impressed with Princess!

Regal 12 Day Cruise
July
Pros: Food was good, staff was excellent
Cons: Not always enough information from Cruise line. Not enough detailed info and helpful tips.. ship a little dated
Recommended: Yes
We had a good time. Staff was good, food good, entertaiment was not as good as it could and should have been. Excursions were rushed as travel times were often long with little time to see the sights and very little time to wander and shop. Buses were nice. Drivers and guides excellent.

Regal Princess Cruise Ship Review - July 2024
July
Pros: Smooth embarkation process, exceptional service, rejuvenating spa treatments
Cons: Crowded public areas, expensive shore excursions, noise levels
Recommended: Yes
The Regal Princess cruise ship offers a luxurious and enjoyable experience. We found the embarkation process smooth. The service was generally exceptional, and we appreciated the relaxing wellness facilities. However, the ship did feel crowded during peak times, and we noticed that shore excursions were expensive. Some public areas were noisy. Additionally, the ship's large size could be overwhelming. Despite these minor drawbacks, our overall experience was highly positive.

Enjoyable vacation
March
Pros: Helpful, polite and friendly staff. Excellent theater entertainment.
Cons: Extremely slow internet.
Recommended: Yes
Embarkation was well organized. Medallion was very useful. We enjoyed a relaxing day on Princess Cays and the stingrays excursion was well worth the money. Rastafarian excursion experience was very interesting and educational. The Cayman Turtle Centre was also very educational. However, the excursion to Hell was over marketed. It was just a small souvenir store that could easily have been omitted. On the same excursion the rum and rum cake tastings were disappointing. Also, not much to see on Grand Turk.

Regal Princess
January
Pros: amenities, good entertainment
Cons: large ship, failure to provide personal service
Recommended: Yes
The royal class ships are big, they are full and they do not provide personal service, if you like that then this one is for you. Our itinerary was wonderful, the ship needed to step it up a couple of notches...Our cabin was lovely, we had a great room steward, food was mediocre, buffet was large and had plenty to offer, outdoor space was plenty, same with the bars.

February
Pros: This was our first cruise and the service was unbelievable!!! The crew couldn’t have been friendlier.
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
We were a little disappointed in our Mayan excursion at Costa Maya for the cost of the excursion. We expected a much larger Mayan ruin. Otherwise the food at the families house and tequila tasting was great. Otherwise all of our other excursions were great. Carolyn in Belize was our tour guide to the Mayan ruins and she was spectacular !!!!

January
Pros: Our suite was about two doors away from our concierge lounge; social distancing was done by all. Everyone worked at staying safe.
Cons: Cruise just wasn’t long enough; having to wear masks so people could not see expressions

The violinist was fabulous. The crew were very intent on seeing that everyone was having a fabulous trip during these trying times. It was quite evident that crew were so very glad that passengers are coming back to cruising.

Five days Regal
December
Pros: Great ship, less than 1000 passengers on board, not sick yet.
Cons: Medallion app needs improvement, itinerary change meant we missed a port
Recommended: Yes
Princess is trying very hard to keep COVID infections to a minimum. Vaccines, tests and masks inside were mandatory. We sailed with less than a third total passenger capacity. We were treated like royalty. The medallion app has some bugs to work out. Seeing daily actives and folio charges were sometimes not working. It was a little spooky that staff knew our name when we approached a desk and seeing a message board for us in common areas when we walked by.

Pros: Regal is most beautiful ship I've ever cruised on
Cons: Medallion original setup with traveleers was awkward.

Pros: All parts of the trip went smoothly and were most enjoyable.
Cons: None

We were a party of seven and found every step of the trip to be well planned. Our arrival at the airport was met by representatives from the Princess Cruise Line. We were taken to our hotel and again everything went very smoothly. Our rooms were ready and the service people were most helpful in directing us to the sights to see and places to eat. The next day Princess again picked us up and brought us to the ship. Our rooms were all ready for us and our luggage was brought to our rooms. The ship was very comfortable and had many activities for all ages, the food was delicious, the entertainment was great and the service was outstanding.

November 2018 Western Caribbean Sailing
November
Pros: The Regal Princess is a beautiful vessel; the public areas, particularly the Atrium, are exceptional. The Regal has a very eclectic ambience for a ship it's size and the number of passengers it carries.
Cons: Since our cabin was located in the Aft area of the ship, we experienced minor vibration throughout the trip.
Recommended: No
Our dining room waiters were fun, attentive and we looked forward to dinner every evening. However, the food/menus were not particularly appealing - or tasteful. This would factor into our decision to sail again on this ship. We've sailed to the Caribbean many times so on this particular sailing, did not do any ship tours.

Cons: The breakfast food on the ship in the buffet could have been better. Eggs were awful.

The ship was beautiful but having been built only four year ago I could see how they had made things smaller to get more room to built more cabins. The Plaza area was really too small to enjoy dancing. There was no longer the entertainment there had been in the past. I always enjoyed the waiters and what they entertain us during dinner they did not do this on this cruise. Even the bathrooms have been down sized as well as the cabin in general.

Cons: too crowded

as an example, the ship holds 3500 passengers and the show lounge holds 950. Pretty hard to cover all the passengers with two shows. The size of the ship makes just getting to breakfast a long trip. When you consider the age of most of the passengers, just the long distances could be a problem.

Great Cruise
March
Pros: We had a great time. Great crew, good food
Cons: smaller cabin than some of the older ships same for the balcony
Recommended: Yes
We had a good time. First time on that big of a ship. Some pro's and some con's but over all a nice ship. Liked the new TV screens in the rooms with loads of movies and programs for kicking back. We had two great trips ashore with great guides and nice people. One con was that the Grill is not enclosed like on the older ships, it's very crowded and open to the bar and music right outside. We canceled the reservation and make it at Sabatini's where we have eaten before. The steaks were over cooked and not tender we at a few bites. The bus boy took the plates. When we told the waiter he got the mater die who said "He was sorry and offered to get us another but we had just finished our desert and by that time were there and hour and a half. When I complained to customer services they told me that there was nothing they could do. Won't eat there again!!!

Great Trip
October
Pros: Really enjoyed all the ports we stopped. Would have been nice to have a little more time but always feel that way
Cons: We missed not being able to stop at St John's because of weather.
Recommended: Yes
Great cruise, great ship. For whatever reason the ships crew seemed a little less organized then our past cruises. We had anytime dinning and the first night they made us wait until the entire dinning room was empty before we were seated. Almost every night we had to wait longer then we have ever had to wait before. Other then the first night the wait was reasonable. Noticed other issues also but nothing very significant. Crew was friendly and helpful.

ship is really nice but very big to many people for us we prefer the smaller ships. There was so many people staff is to busy to get to know them. We came to conclusion that this ship, weather it is because she is so new or due to her size she doesn't have the soul the smaller older ships do. If you don't mind crowds and waiting in line this ship is beautiful and should be experienced.

Pros: Host MC, entertainment, room service, activities, rooms, love boat tune
Cons: Music selection on tv needs longer playlist, food good but not great, anytime dining awful - have to make reservations and the are booked by noon so have to wait on long lines

Loved this ship - the cruise director was amazing and the entertainers he chose were the best I've ever seen on a cruise ship. Loved that the ship was the new Love Boat and played the theme on the horn when leaving ports. So funny

September
Pros: Princess Port Tours are excellent
Cons:

The staff and food on the ship are top notch! The cabin steward was one of the best we ever had, the cabin was kept immaculate and was cleaned each day promptly (we never had to wait for our cabin to be cleaned and never had to request additional amenities). We would definitely consider Princess Cruises for our future cruises.

August

Cons: The only problem with the cruise, was my sister and I had to leave the ship when she broke her arm while in St Petersburg

I have loved cruises ever since going on the first Princess cruise from Alaska in 2010. My feelings are---cruises are the only way to travel! No packing and unpacking every night. No dragging luggage in and out of hotels. Lots of delicious food! Delightful employees of the cruise line that makes a person feel special! Medical team efficient and professional, as well as caring in every way. Perfect way to spend a birthday and to be recognized! A very special. Thank You to everyone that made this cruise so special in every way!

Review of Regal Princess
July
Pros: Big ship, good buffet service, balcony cabin was spacious, a lot of good shows and activities
Cons: Cabin was located way over at one end of the ship, far from elevators, restaurants and dining areas - was very hard on both of us since we had disabilities and found it difficult to walk such long distances several times a day. I requested room slippers but was denied - apparently only given to passengers in suites. Both buffet and formal dining services tended to be repetitious and boring with their limited choice of menus. Would have liked to see more variety.
Recommended: Yes
Overall, very good trip and cruise experience - just that some areas needed improvement (as indicated above).

Had a BLAST
February
Pros: The casino people were patient & tolerant of my black jack efforts as a novice. Crew were polite and willing to help with any needs. ship was clean & orderly
Cons: The breakfast set up on Lido deck was a little confusing because many of the items were hard to find. For instance fried eggs & omelettes were only in one location while other breakfast items were in numerous locations.
Recommended: Yes
We enjoyed our dining experiences and poolside relaxation time. The spa was wonderful. They were quite efficient with the emergency training and disembarkation at our stops. We were able to sit in waiting areas instead of standing in long lines to get off the ship. We would do it again!

December
Pros: The entertainment was fabulous and there were many different opportunities offered. The staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. Childcare was wonderful and provided a structured program of crafts and educational opportunities.
Cons: The theater was too small to accommodate a full ship which necessitated waiting at least 45 minutes for a good seat for every show. Some of the menus were less than appetizing and much of the food had a Caribbean theme.
Recommended: Yes
Our cabin was at the bow of the ship which was a mistake for us as we visited the daycare facility many times each day. It was an extremely long and difficult walk past laundry carts, vacuum cleaners, other passengers, etc. I would recommend selecting a cabin anywhere else on the ship.

Canada and New England Coastal Cruise
October
Pros: Food and entertainment were top notch! The staff on board were friendly, helpful and professional.
Cons: Small balcony, Elevators were small for the size of the ship, ports weren't very interesting.
Recommended: No
Halifax, NS and Peggy's Cove were excellent. We spent 12 hours in Saint John, NB and the only thing worth seeing was the tide come in and then go back out three hours later. Bar Harbor was ok, but we were the last tour to go to Acadia NP and Cadillac Mountain and the bus broke down causing a 30 minute delay in our departure. You only get 20 minutes on Cadillac Mountain and no stops for photos along the way, We had 9 hours in Boston. Clearly not enough time to get out and see the city. Newport, RI was a nice harbor city with some great history. The ship is huge and the elevators are small for the size of the ship. Many times elevators passed our floor without stopping. It got to the point where people would get on the elevator no matter which direction it was going just to get to the floor they wanted. This was a huge problem for disembarking the ship. The staff were terrific, entertainment was great and food was delicious!

To Big
October
Pros: Lots of space, lots to do
Cons: To many people
Recommended: No
We found the ship much too big. Some of the areas were hard to access i.e. Allegro dining room. We would find ourselves in a location and say to each other "Oh that's right. You can't get there from here". This cruise, much more than the 10 other Princess cruise's we've taken, seemed very disorganized in getting this many people off the ship for excursions. Maybe we had a "newer" staff but several other cruise passengers noticed the same thing. We will sail with Princess again but will not choose a ship of this size.

Great trip; flawed ship
September
Pros: excellent food, itinerary
Cons: big, crowded, badly planned
Recommended: No
shortage of elevators and stairs for such a large ship; theater impossibly crowded. Smaller Princess ships are a much better choice. Food and service are top-notch, however. Very little offered in the way of enrichment, though the schedule is crowded with hard-sell activities. Worst background music I've encountered on a cruise, loud and ugly. Elegant-looking ship, however.

Cons: Long wait to disembark. Missed our flight.

We had a very pleasant experience. The ship sailed smoothly. The crew were all very helpful, especially the waiters. Enjoyed the ports visited, Copenhagen, Norway, Scotland, Ireland, St. John's, New Foundland and Halifax. Enjoyed the entertainment and ballroom dancing in the Piazza. The itinerary also suited us. There was Zumba, Line Dancing, Dance lessons, and the gym was spacious. Didn't feel guilty when I visited the Buffet, which was amazing. So many choices. Enjoyed the guacamole and all the trimmings.

August
Pros: Great cities to visit.
Cons: Ship to large to dock in Stockholm. Nynashamn port is an hour bus ot train riide each way to Stockholm leaving too little time to see much of Stockholm. Smaller ships such as RC Brilliance of Sea dock in city ports.
Recommended: Yes
This is not your usual relaxing cruise. It is exhausting between the three hour train ride each was to Berlin, next port Estonia and then two very full days in St. Petersburg. Disappointed by last minute port change from Gothenburg Sweden to Aarhus Denmark. Great cities with exception of Aarhus- not a lot there to see.

Pros: I like having gel shower & shampoo available. I like the Bristo and the food served in the Horizon Court.
Cons: The food in the Main Dinning room was not up to par

The food in the main dinning room was just about the same every day. This is not what I have experienced on passed Princess Cruises. The nightly shows were only 30 minutes. I realize they had many passengers and did a show at 6:30, 8:30 & 10:30, but I would have liked for the show to last at least 45 minutes.

January
Pros: Entertainment
Cons: Food
Recommended: Yes
The entertainment was Excellent! Only drawback was that there were so many people on this ship, 3600+ passengers, that we had to go to the theater at least 45 - an hour early to get a seat. The food was average. The buffet is too spread out and did not have every area open at all times. Also, there were no hand sanitizers at all entrance points. No greeters and sanitizers as there are on other Princess ships. The dining room food was OK, not great. Several times we ordered Caesar salad and they did not have it even though it was on the menu. Seems like there were more passengers on this ship who were not as patient. Maybe too many people on the ship? Personnel were nice and helpful as always. Rooms had a few problems such as TV not working, toilet problems, and on the last day, our faucet would not stop running. Maybe problems of a new ship? The room steward was excellent, great service!

Our review
January
Pros: Food and dining room service. Safety drill.
Cons: Chairs around the pool. Cabin size. Stateroom steward. Shows(except the final show).
Recommended: Yes
The waiter & his assistant were superior! The buffet food was very good. The safety drill was held inside, out of the rain, & where we could sit. So many others are standing throughout. That means standing while waiting for the stragglers, of which there are many. The chairs around the pools were not comfortable, with a very few exceptions. The pools were very cold and only one had stairs to enter. The remainder had ladders. The cabin was smaller than other balcony cabins we had on other ships. We had no wash cloths and we had to ask the steward three times before we got them & only because I confronted him in the hall while he was replacing towels. Other ships had a steward & an assistant, this had only one & he seemed unable to keep up. The shows were some of the best we saw, except the last one. It was amateurish.

September
Pros: Plenty of activities, good music shows in evening, trivia 3 times day, marvelous crew and staff..always responsive and helpful.
Cons: Long wait for elevators at peek periods. Food not quite as good in dining room as other ships, long wait for boarding when returning to ship from excursions at peek hours, but always a welcoming cold towel.

Not my favorite Princess ship, but I would consider sailing again if it was convenient . I was really bummed out by the long flight home and would prefer future cruises on the west coast to anywhere. We had one lecture about the creation of the ship which was fascinating. There are too few of these lectures (on any subject other than jewels and spa offerings), maybe because of too many ports and not enough days at sea. That is what we take a ship for and had been to several of the ports before and did not get off. Also, the port lecturer was difficult to understand and did not seem as available at the port when you disembarked as some other cruises. Please make sure princess gets these comments. Their survey ended before I could get all of them written.

Pros: Good ports
Cons: Rushed itinerary
Recommended: Yes
Good selection of popular ports with interesting sites, but limited time in port made tours very rushed. Set dining times should be 6:30 and 8:30 due to port schedules. The first seating at 5:30 meant we missed every dinner on port days. Or, we had to cut our land tours short just to be on time for dinner. Dining room food was not much better than buffet food. Big improvement on entertainment. A number of great shows, but majority of entertainment options were mediocre.
