Icon of the Seas
October
Pros: Staff, entertainment shows, 1400 and coffee bar, Empire supper club
Cons: Maintenance issues (rust, broken features, etc), Adventure Ocean (unhappy staff, mostly screen-based games)
Recommended: Yes
We loved the entertainment onboard and the staff overall were excellent. Hooked was the best we’ve visited among several cruise ships we’ve been on. We really enjoyed everything about our visit to the Empire Club. It seems maintenance problems were frequently seen (rust in pools, broken mini golf moving features, chipped/missing paint on merry go round characters, etc) for such a new ship. The seating in the aquadome is incredibly uncomfortable. Chops was far too loud and crowed too many people into a small space - this was the worst chops we’ve visited among 4 different RCCL ships. We loved 1400 bar and the coffee bar as their cocktails were by far the best onboard.

Incredible Time on the Icon
August
Pros: Awesome ship, so many things to explore and experience, Royal did a great job at handling people and traffic. The ship rarely felt like too crowded. Staff was awesome
Cons: Probably could use another pool. Also, decking in Thrill Island got incredibly hot.

Icon of the Seas 2024 Experience
May
Pros: 1. The smooth boarding and exiting process. 2.The new elevator system 3. Wow bands
Cons: 1. Aggressive negative customer service in Pointe & Feather 2. Layout for Playmakers 3. Exit points for theater travels through Playmakers and Hooked seafood conflicts with AquaTheatre
Recommended: Yes
Overall, the Icon experience was excellent. Feedback 1. Michelle, bartending in Pointe & Feather, was very rude and condescending. 2. Wow bands should be complimentary for suite guests. Also, there should be wireless devices at all bars to scan Wow bands. 3. Coastal Kitchen should be flexible with suite guests bringing in 3 - 5 family members. Especially for milestone occasions and when the restaurant is not terribly busy. 4. The adult beverage package should automatically link all qualifying guests in the same stateroom. 5. The Concierge were very friendly and helpful.

An iconic vacation
May
Pros: Beautiful designed ship! Wonderful use of neighborhoods so it never feels like a crowded ship. Well designed elevators, so you never wait. Excellent dinning experiences in the main dining room as well as the speciality restaurants. All Shows are beyond excellent in talent and entertainment. The bars and specialty drinks are top notched. The rooms are beautiful and the newly designed showers are wonderful. The crew is attentive, friendly and the best!
Cons: Not exactly a con, but be prepared that it is a family ship & there are a number of children. Therefore on sea days the pools can be crowded. Another issue involves that the ship has a number of stairs, to go to the spa locker room, to go to the ice skating venue, & to go to the adult pool as examples. People need to be aware if they have mobility issues.
Recommended: Yes
Overall a wonderful ship that I would highly recommend! Excellently designed! There is something for everyone in your family. A floating city with massive windows that makes you feel that you are part of the sea. An excellent staff that makes you feel special. Their private island, Cocoa Cay is the cherry on top of your cruising experience. It is very easy to be loyal to royal especially after sailing on this one of a kind ship.
