Puerto Morelos

In Puerto Morelos tranquility reigns with open skies, long stretches of beach and a small town atmosphere. This is the place to relax: watch the sunrise on the beach, meet the locals, explore the natural wonders such as the coral reef, tan under the sun, or simply soak up the serenity. Wedged between the bustling cities of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, it has maintained its peaceful atmosphere of a charming Mexican fishing village living up to its nickname “La Joya del Caribe” (Jewel of the Caribbean). Both locals and foreigners work hard to protect Puerto’s status as a National Marine Park and keep development to a minimum. Its close proximity to airports and bus terminals makes Puerto Morelos a perfect base for exploring the Yucatan peninsula.

Puerto Cortez
12/23/2019
12/23/2019

Puerto Cortes is the principal port of Central America, and its port facilities are most advanced. The town has a very attractive central park. The municipal beach is a big attraction on weekends and holidays. The Saturday farmer's market draws big crowds of shoppers, tons of fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats from local producers. From Puerto Cortes there is a partially paved road to the west taking you to Chivana, Omoa, Cuyamel, other small ocean side villages, and Guatemala. It's a great drive, mountains on the left and ocean on the right. There are many beach homes belonging to upper crust folks from other parts of Honduras scattered among the local villages and homes.

Santo Tomas de Castilla
12/24/2019
12/24/2019

Santo Tomas De Castilla in Guatemala is located on a small stretch of Caribbean coast virtually untouched by man. Do not miss Tikal, the largest and most impressive of all classic Mayan sites with over 500 excavated structures.

Livingston (Rio Dulce)
12/25/2019
12/25/2019

Livingston, an extremely fun and interesting Carribean town. The town is populated by the Garifuna people of African origin with a laid-back Carribean attitude, their own language (though they tend to speak Spanish and English as well), and a style of dancing known as punta that requires the hips to move faster than lightening. Livingston is where tourists generally stay in the Rio Dulce region.

Belize City
12/26/2019
12/26/2019

Belize City is the largest city in Belize. It offers the visitor an unusual combination of rustic, old-fashioned Caribbean charm and bustling modernity. The Belize River meanders through the middle of the city; and twice a day, the city's swing bridge closes to allow sail boats to pass. There are many traditional street vendors selling fruits, vegetables, arts and crafts in the city's public squares, especially in the colonial marketplace on Saturday mornings. Visitors can purchase handmade wood furniture made by the Mennonite community and many kinds of craft items from the National Handicraft center, as well as from vendors who congregate near the Belize Commercial Center. Belize City is an excellent starting off point for visitors wishing to explore the country by car (or 4-wheel drive). There are several major tourist attractions an hour's drive or less from Belize City, such as the Belize Zoo, Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, the Bermudian Landing Community Baboon Sanctuary, and the Mayan ruin site at Altun Ha.

Half Moon Caye
12/27/2019
12/27/2019

Half Moon Caye is located at the southeast corner of the Lighthouse Reef Atoll, one of Belize's three atolls. This protected natural monument is a popular dive spot with diverse marine life which includes sea turtles, eagle rays, garden eels, corals and sponges. The island provides a breeding ground to the endangered Red-footed Booby, as well as a sea turtle nesting ground.
